Until now, I never felt such a tug from the L-rd to share my personal story in this manner concerning my connection with my native country, Haiti.
I grew up in a strong, political, military-type family. My father was a soldier in the service/army of Haiti. He had such passion for his country. I can remember seeing different types of emotions when my father spoke about Haiti. Sometimes he would be so angry it seemed like smoke was coming out of his ears. Other times, tears would flow down his cheeks. I never understood that passion until my father passed away four years ago. I believe he passed that mantle of love and passion, as well as the soldier, on to me! That is when I began to experience that love and passion through my intercession for Haiti.
The L-rd began to give me instructions for Haiti. Our team of intercessors would pray and pray. In fact, our team visited Haiti in 2001. We went to the mountain and we prayed and prayed but we knew we would be back to Haiti . . . to pray.
My assignment pertains to the DEED of the land of Haiti. Haiti must be restored and rebuilt according to G-d's original plan. The land, the people, the country must be conveyed back to G-d.
I understand now why the L-rd would not allow me to change my Haitian citizenship status. I have been living in the United States for 37 years now and it seems as though the L-rd has me in training camp for this time, this season. My citizenship status in 'the natural' transfers in 'the spirit' to allow me to operate in a different level in the spirit and to speak life back into the land of Haiti.
My father, "the soldier", demonstrated his love for his country as one of the leaders in an army coup in Haiti. They attempted to take over the government because of the mistreatment of the Haitian people by its government.
Please read the following story:
In April of 1970, all five ships of the Garde-Cotes commenced shooting at the Palais National. However, they did not hit their intended target. Unfortunately, the expected uprising of the army never materialized.
Duvalier's soldiers were unable to reach the ships, with their gunnery. A two-day stalemate ended when the commander of the Garde-Coteu sailed his squadron to Guantanamo Bay into asylum. This was the last unsuccessful coup attempt against the durable, self-proclaimed President for Life. I will not elaborate on the causes for the failure of the numerous invasions but the rugged terrain, lack of financial backing, bad planning and Duvalier informants, all contributed to the failed insurrections. Many courageous men died trying to free the masses of the Haitian population from a cruel, ruthless and tormented tyrant.
On the 21st of April in 1971, Francois Duvalier died. For the first time in Haitian history, a father had handed over the presidency to his son. Duvalierism would continue. One dictator was gone but another would follow.
My love for my country is demonstrated through Intercession which is actually more powerful and effective. Through Intercession, I will finish the job my father started 39 years ago.
I am asking in the same spirit that Moses asked the children of Israel to bring the offering to build the tabernacle that the L-rd had instructed him to build for His glory. I am asking those with a willing heart to sow toward this journey, as our team of Intercessors travel in the same spirit of Jehu to take back what belongs to G-d.
There is a changing of the guards that is taking place at the gates of Haiti. In the same spirit of Nehemiah, we are going to rebuild the walls and gates, first in the heart of the Haitian people, then in the natural.
